CytoShield dPTFE Micropore Membrane

CytoShield is a non-resorbable barrier membrane made from 100% medical-grade dense polytetrafluoroethylene (dPTFE). It is biologically inert and chemically non-reactive, with a textured surface on one side. It is designed for guided bone regeneration (GBR) and guided tissue regeneration (GTR), where space maintenance and cell occlusion are critical. It is especially well suited to bone regeneration and soft tissue management in extraction sockets, including those with immediate implant placement.

The membrane's pore size is smaller than most oral bacteria, which makes it virtually impervious to bacterial infiltration. It can therefore be used with or without primary closure, and it can be left exposed with minimal flap reflection, allowing faster soft tissue recovery. It is stiff enough to resist collapse over the defect, yet supple enough to conform to tissue contours. It is easy to remove once healing is complete. CytoShield is supplied sterile, for single use only.
